John Hudak is a Senior Fellow in Governance Studies and Deputy Director of the Center for Effective Public Management at the Brookings Institution. His research focuses on state, local, and international cannabis policy; congressional and presidential elections; public administration; and presidential power. He is the author of the 2016 book Marijuana: A Short History. He holds a B.A. in political science and economics from the University of Connecticut and an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from Vanderbilt University.
