Katherine Katcher is the founder and executive director of Root & Rebound, a reentry legal resource center based in Oakland, California. Root & Rebound provides people in reentry, their families, and communities with the legal knowledge, tools, and direct services needed to effectively navigate and eliminate legal barriers to reentry.

Prior to starting Root & Rebound, Ms. Katcher attended Berkeley Law, where she studied criminal defense, prisoner rights, and reentry advocacy. She then worked at the Texas Defender Service, the Berkeley Law Death Penalty Clinic, the Prison Law Office, Legal Services for Prisoners with Children in San Francisco, and UnCommon Law. Ms. Katcher also co-founded the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project.

Ms. Katcher received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Columbia University and her Juris Doctor from Berkeley Law, and is an attorney licensed to practice in the State of California.
